I am trained in all aspects of piano restoration and repair.
Minor repairs that can be done at the piano are of course done there,
whereas major repairs, reconditioning and restoration requires the piano to be
serviced in a workshop. This will require a quotation for such and
this work can take from 2-16 weeks per piano, depending on the work required and on schedule. Get your piano restored, just

Piano Inspections & Valuations: If you
have found a piano and want me to look at it and give you a written
recomendation as to its condition then this can be arranged. Or, if you own a
piano and wish to sell it and require a valuation then I also provide this service, just
Depending on the location of the piano the charge for a valuation or inspection will
be from R350. For inspections, if there are several pianos you wish to have inspected
then a price can be negotiated in advance. If there is anything
else I can assist you with then please don't hesitate to contact
me, even if you are not located in South Africa.
So, what does it cost to fix a piano?
Prices vary as to the repair that is required. Here are some approximate costs:
Action Service (Cleaning, refacing hammers, attending to loose or tight action parts, replacing worn felts or leathers) From R1,500
Regulating an action (after above is done) From R1,800
Re-Pin (replacing existing tuning pins with a larger size) R5,000
Restring a piano (with new pinblock) From R15,000
Fitting a new set of hammers From R6,000
Some repairs require the piano to be in the workshop so transport costs are additional where needed.
